Let’s tackle domestic abuse together across Devon.

Role description:

We are thrilled to have launched our Group Recovery Work at Fearfree in Devon this summer with our First Hope 2 Recovery online course, supporting victims of domestic abuse on their journey of recovery and self-discovery. The early signs are that the demand will be huge and so we are looking for passionate volunteers to support the organisation and administration for the groups to take place.

Main tasks breakdown:

  • Process new referrals by acknowledging receipt and allocating them to the correct spreadsheet.
  • Make initial contact by telephone or email and book the participant in for a Pre Group Assessment with the E&R team.
  • Arrange for each course to be ready on Teams with all relevant documentation uploaded and all participants booked and kept informed.
  • Ensure the delivery team has all they need to present the course on Microsoft Teams.
  • Ensure all participants receive by post their Hope 2 Recovery journal after week 1.
  • Ensure all the correct documents are uploaded to the clients file when the course finishes and that each participant receives their course completion certificate.

Person Specification:

You will be passionate about Recovery work and breaking the cycle of domestic abuse. You will have a calm compassionate friendly and non-judgemental manner and understand the importance of confidentiality and building trust with our clients. If this sounds like you and you would like to work in this exciting new practice area at Fearfree, Devon please complete our online application form. We would love to hear from you!

Role requirements:

This is one of our client facing roles and will require volunteers to be confident in talking to service users and have a good level of IT skills. This role requires a minimum time commitment of half a day per week when a course is being delivered.

Training and Support:

Fearfree will provide general induction training as well as specific training for this role. This role offers you the opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic team and make an incredible difference to the people we support. Opportunities to attend ongoing training and development will also be made available alongside regular supervision meetings and informal volunteer ‘drop-in’ events at our Exeter office.

Should you wish to discuss this, or any other role further please contact Sophie.williams@fearfree.co.uk

This is a pivotal time to be part of our leading Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence organisation, and your help really can make all the difference. References can be requested after 3 months of active volunteering.
