The team are able to support both adults and children. However, we don’t support children who have experienced sexual abuse/violence, as this is provided by SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centres). SARC offers medical, practical and emotional support. They have specially trained NHS doctors, nurses and support workers to care for you and more information can be found here: Home - Devon & Cornwall SARC - NHS (sarchelp.co.uk).
We also offer support for those concerned about their own behaviour in relationships.
When you choose to work with us, you'll be assigned a dedicated Interpersonal Trauma Practitioner who will provide tailored emotional and practical support based on your unique needs and preferences. We understand that every individual heals differently, and we will work at a pace that suits you best.
If you are already in contact with your GP, please speak to them about the Interpersonal Trauma Response Service and they will help to connect you with a Interpersonal Trauma Practitioner. Alternatively, if you are not already in contact with your GP, please contact us and we can help you get the right support.
Our IRISi Partnership
FearFree worked in partnership with IRISi to deliver the IRIS program. This continues to be a specialist domestic violence and abuse training, support and referral programme for General Practices that has been positively evaluated in a randomised controlled trial.
FearFree is now enhancing this to bring you the Interpersonal Trauma Response Service which works with an all inclusive group of people.
Are you a GP?
Our Interpersonal Trauma Practitioners provide training to GPs. These workers can be embeded in your teams and surgery to provide 1-1 support for patients who are or have experienced domestic abuse of sexual violence. Learn more about how the ITR Service can benefit you.
