Jack's Story
Jack tells us why a corporate partnership is good for business.
Each year, colleagues at Hargreaves Lansdown shortlist and vote for a charity of their choice, this year the charity had to be Bristol or South West based and have a link to financial resilience. We chose to partner with FearFree as it was clear that through our partnership we could make a large impact to a local charity through fundraising whilst offering specialist support for financial wellbeing resources.
"We are making a large impact to a local charity"
We have run a number of fundraising events. Our biggest so far was the Bristol 10k and half marathon where 97 Hargreaves Lansdown runners took part in raising money for FearFree! We have also run a tennis tournament, cricket tournament, Break the Cycle, and are planning on a skydive alongside multiple events for the 16 Day Challenge.
My most memorable moment has to be seeing the runners at Bristol 10k and half marathon in their bright orange t-shirts!
The partnership has acted as a focal point for colleague fundraising. It resonates with colleagues and they want to support this cause. Through the partnership it has also allowed us to tackle sensitive topics that colleagues truly feel passionate about. Not only have we run fundraising events, but we have had speakers from FearFree to host webinars alongside numerous posters and campaigns around Domestic Violence and Abuse.
"If you're thinking about partnering with FearFree - do it!"
There is a clear culture of ingenuity and drive - they deeply care about stopping the cycle of abuse and this comes across in the partnership. They always are looking for new and different ways to get the most out of the work we do together and strive to make it the highest standard.
