Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving2

How does this work?

Gifts are deducted directly from your gross salary, giving immediate tax relief. For example, if you choose to donate £10 a month to FearFree via Payroll Giving, it will only cost you £8 if you are a basic rate taxpayer - and even less if you are a higher rate taxpayer.

How to get started

Speak to your employer about payroll giving. Your employer just needs to register with a payroll giving agency approved by HMRC.

Once your employer is registered with an agency, they send your Payroll Giving forms to the agency, who do the rest.

The agency is responsible for adding the tax onto a donor's gift and transferring the total sum to us (the charity).

Costs of running a scheme

Agencies may charge an administration fee. They usually deduct this from employees’ donations before they pass them to the charity. You can choose to pay the fee, meaning the charities will get more money.
