Join Exeter’s iconic Great West Run 2024 on fully closed roads, starting and finishing at Exeter Arena. With entertainment, water stations, and pacemakers, it’s the must-do half marathon.
Run for FearFree
No matter your fitness or running experience set a New Year’s goal in 2024 and take part in the Great West Run for FearFree. By doing so, you’ll help local adults and children rebuild their lives, free from fear and abuse.

- This year we’re partnered with More Trees – instead of cotton T-shirts we will be planting a tree for every race participant
On the Day:
07:00: First Shuttle to Event Village
07:30: Village Opens
08:30: Start pens open
09:00: 2024 Great West Run
10:05 Onwards: Race Finish
12:30: Course Closures
CUT OFF POINT: Runners must reach the 4-mile point within 1hr 10mins of the race starting to be able to do the full 13.1-mile route. Any participant after this time will be redirected right along Cowley Bridge Road to follow the remainder of the race route as a pedestrian using footpaths. We will have to enforce this cut-off time due to us having to adhere to a strict road closure reopening schedule.
