Generous Local Supporters Provide Food and Resources for Families and Children

A big thank you to Mary Kearney and the wonderful people at the St Edmunds and St Mary Major Charity for donating £500 to support our Children and Young Person’s team in the ITRS project in Devon. This team collaborates with GPs across Devon, training them to recognize signs of abuse and direct clients to our services. With this donation, the team has been able to purchase books, games, toys, and mindfulness resources that will significantly benefit the children they support.

Helen Gazey, our Interpersonal Trauma Response Service Manager, expressed her gratitude, saying: “It felt like our birthday today when a delivery of wonderful resources arrived for our Children and Young Person’s team in the Interpersonal Trauma Response Service. Nicole, Chloe, Nicola, and the rest of the team would like to extend a huge thank you to the wonderful St Edmunds and St Mary Major Charity for enabling us to order these resources to support children and young people affected by domestic abuse. They will make an invaluable contribution to our work.”

Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Wiltshire County Council has generously awarded us a £5000 grant through the Household Support Fund, allowing us to provide 25 vulnerable families in Wiltshire with food and utility vouchers as they begin to rebuild their lives.

We are also grateful to Melksham Town Council for donating £500 to our crisis fund to support their residents fleeing abusive relationships, and to Devizes Town Council for contributing £300 to support their residents in need.

Their support enables us to help vulnerable families during their time of crisis, providing access to safety, support, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. A massive thank you for their kindness and support.

Every week, we receive over 200 referrals for our support. If you can, please donate to help us provide more resources and ensure we are there to support people during their time of greatest need.
