Salisbury skydive raises over £5,500 for FearFree

On a sunny Saturday in October a group of 19 brave supporters took part in our skydive challenge to raise funds and awareness for FearFree and the adults and children we support. The charity fundraiser took place at Old Sarum Park in Salisbury with GoSkydive, and the group raised over £5,500 to support our cause!

Jessica Gay, Head of Fundraising, said: “It was a fantastic day, we had amazing weather and an amazing group of people taking on the jump to support our life saving work! Everyone did amazingly, especially those who were feeling that extra bit nervous on the day. I’m so proud of everyone.”

The group comprised of 12 colleagues from our charity partner Hargreaves Lansdown and two from our partner Goughs Solicitors, as well as our FearFree supporters and volunteers.

Nina, who volunteers at FearFree as a Befriender, took on the 15,000ft jump at the weekend and said:  “What an amazing day yesterday – I still don’t think it’s quite sunk in the fact that I jumped from a plane at 15,000ft. It just takes a little belief in ourselves to achieve great things and great change.”

If you want to take on the challenge, join our next charity fundraiser skydive on Saturday 6th April 2024. Jump for free and commit to raising £395 for a 10,000ft jump or £480 for a 15,000ft jump. It’s an amazing opportunity to tick off one from your bucket list and doing so to help adults and children overcome the trauma of abuse.
